As members of the Committee on Higher Education in Hong Kong and Malaya are aware, a small working party has been engaged in the preparation of a draft directive
As was on long term educational policy in Malaya. anticipated, it has been found difficult to avoid overlapping between these two committees, and the conclusion has been reached that it will probably be found convenient to include the recommendations of the Higher Education Committee in the draft directive which is being prepared by the other working party.
Common ground has already been covered by the two committees in regard to the provision of teacher training facilities, and the revival of facilities for vocational training,
So far as these matters are concerned, the anticipated recommendations of the Higher Education Committee have accordingly now been incorporated in the araft directive which is being prepared by the other working party.

A copy of this draft directive (which is not yet complete) is annexed for consideration by the Higher Education Committee at its next meeting at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 11th January.
